In a plane disaster close to a Caribbean island, actor Christian Oliver, pilot Robert Sachs, and his two children, Madita (12) and Annik (10), perished.
At the time of the occurrence, Christian Oliver—real name: Christian Klepser—was 51 years old.
The pilot, Oliver, and his two daughters were the only people inside the tiny, one-engine aircraft when it crashed.
Robert Sachs was the owner and pilot of the aeroplane that crashed one nautical mile west of Petit Nevis, a small Grenadines island.
The unfortunate aircraft took off from Paget Farm, Bequia's J.F. Mitchell Airport with its ultimate destination being St. Lucia.
Shortly after departure on a Thursday afternoon, at approximately 12:11 p.m., the incident happened.
According to the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, the plane encountered technical issues shortly after takeoff, which resulted in its tragic oceanic plunge.
Paget Farm divers and fishermen arrived at the disaster scene in their boats right away to help. Rescue efforts also involved the SVG Coast Guard.
The pilot, his daughters, and Christian Oliver's body were retrieved by the Coast Guard. After they were declared dead by medical personnel, their bodies were brought to St. Vincent.
